Zara - Chasing Leaves: -
Performing Live: Generally, I will sing/play a mix of original songs and modern covers, and will use self-made backing tracks to create a more expansive musical soundscape to better entertain my audiences with. Effectively, I become a 'One-Man-Band' but rather than attempting to strap several instruments to myself (which would be very limiting), I pre-record multiple layers of different instruments and vocals, and sing/play along to these.
The Cover Songs that I choose to perform are an eclectic mix of post 2000 Pop and Pop Rock... these are carefully selected 'Chart Hits' and thus far, they have all gone down very well with audiences of all ages. In fact, many people who had expected to hear the usual classics from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, have remarked on "how refreshing it is to hear more up to date songs"!
Note: I do undertake live performances without backing tracks when asked but in my experience, unless it's something like a sing-along or a very small gathering, most audiences would prefer a wider spectrum of sounds to pique their interest.
Musician: I can play guitar (Acoustic, Bass and Electric), Piano, Synthesizer Keyboard, and Synth' Drumpads. When recording my own songs and backing tracks I also play 'Virtual Instruments' e.g. strings, brass, percussive sounds, etc. This combination of utilising both analogue and digital instruments provides me with an almost limitless palette of sounds to choose from, and much more musical variety for an audience to listen to.
Live Performance Equipment: I have "professional grade" Amp's and/or P.A. Speaker systems that are ideal for small to medium-sized venues, and I can also bring portable Power Units for use in locations without a 240V supply.
