"I was born to Live Perform" (but I still have to practice hard!)
Event: | Pub/Hotel | Price: from £200.
So, what does "from £200" mean?
For £200 I will provide up to two hours entertainment at a small to medium sized *local Pub, Hotel, Social Club, Restaurant, Cafe, etc. Generally, this will singing, playing guitar (acoustic and/or Bass guitar), accompanied by bespoke Backing Tracks. Performances can be either indoors or outdoors but if I need to erect a canopy to protect myself and equipment from the elements, there may have to be an additional charge.
Simply put, all entertainment work priced at £200 needs to be relatively local and easy to execute, because if you account for all of the preparation, loading and unloading of equipment, travel time, performance time, and then add in the other expenses/outgoings, then £200 is just about *enough (*see below).
If you cannot meet all of the above requirements, how much more will I charge?
The simple but honest answer is, "a fair price."
I will need to account for all additional time required; travel costs, extra equipment needs, logistics (e.g. access & parking), etc. Unfortunately, I can only work out a price once I know all of the details related to your booking requirements e.g. location, date, time, etc.
Once I have this information, I will be get back to you with a quote asap.
Guidance:-
1) *LOCAL: Within 30 minute drive time from Poole i.e. a 1hr round trip. Please take into account the time of year e.g. what might be a 30 minute drive in January, could be a 2 hour drive in August!
2) Access & Parking: Similar to above, this may be seriously affected during certain periods, or if there are any other major events going on locally e.g. Carnivals, County Shows, Festivals, etc.
3) Venue Size: I state "small to medium size venues" because the P.A. system/s that I own are usually perfect for venues of this size. Whereas, larger venues, or oddly shaped venues, may require additional P.A. speakers (often more related to distributing the sound more evenly, than a lack of overall volume). In such cases I will need to hire extra P.A. Speakers and Cables, and charge accordingly.
4) Power Supply: If required, I can bring a portable power pack to supply electricity to all of my own equipment, and at no additional charge (the power pack will last for up to four hours). This is ideal for outdoor events, or for venues where there are no conveniently placed 240v outlets. However, if it is a nightime event which requires additional lighting, I may need to hire extra power packs.
5) Hanging Around Time: There are many Events where exact timings are difficult to determine in advance, long delays are very likely and common, or for logistical reasons I may need to set-up long before my performance. If this "hanging around" is over thirty minutes, I will need to charge extra.
What does "enough" mean...
Many other performers working at this price point have a day job... but I don't. This is not because I'm lazy or a Diva, I just need to spend a lot of time learning and practising new skills; rehearsing; recording new backing-tracks; and writing original songs and music... and only I do this because I want be an exceptional entertainer! Why should you care how long I practise, or whether I'm exceptional? Because an exceptional entertainer will undoubtedly retain, and/or attract, significantly more customers for you (and that's good business for both of us).
